About Me – Coach Tommy
I’m Tommy, a dedicated hockey skills coach, performance specialist, and former professional player committed to helping athletes elevate every aspect of their game.
My hockey career began on the outdoor rinks of Manitoba and took me to Toronto to compete at the junior level. From there, I advanced to College hockey in Saskatchewan before returning home to play U Sports with the University of Manitoba Bisons Men’s Hockey Team. After my collegiate career, I signed professionally in the United States and later returned to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. My path then led me overseas, where I had the opportunity to coach and work with professional and junior-level players, further expanding my expertise in player development and high-performance training..
I’ve spent over seven years coaching athletes at every level — from grassroots players learning the fundamentals to elite and professional players refining their craft. During my time at The RINK Hockey Academy, I worked closely with NHL players and academy athletes, focusing on skill development, mobility, and recovery. My approach blends on-ice technical training, off-ice strength and conditioning, and mental performance strategies to give players a complete developmental advantage.
Through Skill Vault Hockey, I’ve built a mentorship system that combines high-level coaching with innovative tools like video analysis, performance tracking, and personalized player journals. My goal is simple: to help each athlete develop the skills, mindset, and confidence to perform at their best — when it matters most.
